![]() ![]() ![]() The serial number on the middle valve piece is 41 371211. I have a King trumpet (a Tempo 600 Series) that I got used. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. I've found a couple of sites that suggest it may be from the sixties but I was wondering if that was correct. Early instruments will have a 'lion head' by the serial numbers and are engraved 'The King'. Please keep in mind that most catalogs were dated on the back and should be trusted more than the serial number list. The remaining four numbers of the serial number indicate the production. The fourth character (number) indicates the specific type of instrument: '1' = Cornet, '2' = Trumpet, '3' = Alto Horn, '4' = French Horn, '5' = Mellophone, '6' = Valve Trombone, '7' = Slide Trombone, '8' = Baritone Horn & Euphonium, '9' = Tuba, and '10' = Sousaphone.
